Lynn’s Comments:  My father has been buying me jewellery ever since I was a little girl.  I received a pearl necklace at age 10, rose quartz beads when I was 15 and a stunning long strand of amber beads upon high school graduation.  I loved some pieces and grew to love the others like the amber beads over the years.   At a young age, I did not understand the value and significant beauty of some beads.  However, this changed as I grew older.

I now wear beads according to my mood and style of dress.   Some of my favorites include a crystal and rudraksha bead necklace from India, turquoise beads from Egypt and and an olivewood rosary from Jerusalem.   It brings me pleasure when I go shopping for beads in other countries.

Over time, I have received gifts of beads from others. In 2008, I was given a bead of tourmaline stones which I was told is excellent for one’s health and cleans the different chakras.   I was so happy when I received that beaded necklace.  More recently, I held an End of Chemo Party and received a Buddhist bracelet made of sandalwood beads which I have been wearing ever since.

Lynn’s Comments:   I have been on Facebook for over 5 years now.  I have maintained my friendships and have made new friends as well.  I have been documenting my journey through a cancer diagnosis and received a kind offer of a Paraffin Hand Wax treatment from a Facebook friend, B.M. Ramirez in March 2012.  I let her know that I was unable to do any salon visits during Chemotherapy, but could do so after my last Chemo session in May 2012.  So, finally I booked an appointment to visit The Urban Beauty Bar and had my Paraffin Hand Wax treatment today.  It was relaxing, and the wax felt good on my hands.  After the treatment, my skin felt soft.  I am extremely grateful for the gift of this treatment from B.M. Ramirez.
